Toyota Land Cruiser 2024: Specs and Interior. Toyota’s long-running Land Cruiser nameplate has been sold in more than 10 million examples since the introduction in 1951. The model played a major role in establishing the brand’s reputation for building durable and dependable cars. The iconic Land Cruiser is still a good seller for the brand with roughly 400, 000 units sold annually in around 170 markets worldwide. The largest market for the Land Cruiser is the Middle East which accounts for around 33 percent of total sales where this model is available in different forms. Following the Middle East is Europe with about 54, 00 sold examples and then goes Oceania and North America.
However, the Land Cruiser struggles with sales in the US where the market is overcrowded with more modern and affordable models. The current version of the Land Rover was introduced in 2007 and with a facelift for the 2016 season, the model lags behind newer models in many aspects. While in other markets Land Cruiser continues with good sales a high price, non-efficient engine and outdated design are considered as the reasons for low demand. In that respect, there is more than one report suggesting possible discontinuation of the Land Cruiser from the brand’s lineup around 2022. There are also contradicting reports claiming an arrival of the new-generation version in 2024 coinciding with the nameplate’s 70th anniversary.
In any case, what seems sure now the Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 should return with no major changes. The recent reports pointing in that direction and the lack of the prototype version suggesting also that the all-new Land Cruiser shouldn’t appear before the 2022 model year.
Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 Powertrains
The Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 should again return wit the 5.7-liter V-8 petrol engine in the US. The engine comes paired with the 8-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive. The engine makes 381 hp and torque of 401 lb-ft. Thanks to this power combo, the Land Cruiser can tow up to 8, 200 pounds. But efficiency is a problem with just 14 mpg combined.
Outside the US, the Land Cruiser switches to the diesel-powered unit which is a twin-turbo V-8 engine good for 200 kW and 650 Nm of torque.
The new-generation Land Cruiser is expected to get more efficient and downsized likely turbocharged V-6 or V-8 petrol engine in the US while a diesel unit will again be used outside the US. The redesigned Land Cruiser should also get an electrified powertrain option.
Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 Design
Based on what we know so far, the Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 should return with a familiar look which has much in common with the 1991 Land Cruiser.
The front-end design of the model will again be defined by a large chrome grille that hides elements and cameras of active-safety gear. The grille is situated between the LED headlights. The model will also stay the same from other perspectives.
As for the next-generation Land Cruiser, it should switch to the lightweight structure which will allow the electrification of the powertrains but will provide serious off-road and towing capability. There could also be some dimension and design corrections to improve the third-row comfort.
Interior, Equipment
The next Land Cruiser should also stay the same inside the cabin. The model will again come with the large 9-inch touchscreen interface, navigation, wireless charging, 14-speaker JBL sound system as standard equipment.
Safety tech will also be present by default including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors and surround-vision cameras.

Other premium features available in the Land Cruiser as standard equipment includes leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, four-zone climate control and more.
The premium SUV will also provide up to 82 cubic feet of the cargo space.
Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 Release, Price
The next Toyota Land Cruiser 2024 should be available in late 2024. The price should again be in the mid-$80, 000. The new-generation version is expected to appear in 2024 and hit the market as the 2022 version.
Buyers who want a newer, similarly priced model should consider the Range Rover or Lincoln Navigator. If the off-road capability is a priority alongside a well-equipped and plush cabin they won’t be disappointed with the Land Cruiser despite its aging design and low efficiency.
