Ford F-150 Electric Pickup Truck 2024: Redesign and Release Date. Ford F-150 2024 Electric will be the most powerful F150 ever, and this electric pickup truck should be hit the market in mid-2024.
Ford’s decision to include its F-Series trucks in the electric vehicle lineup was revealed early in 2022 at Detroit Motor Show.
With the EV market in the truck category becoming increasingly saturated, especially after the revelation of GMC’s Hummer EV, Rivian R1T, and Tesla Cyber Truck, Ford will not miss the chance to take part in the competition. And the truck it decides to choose for the competition is its legendary F-Series truck, whose performance and capability have been proven since more than seventy years ago.
Although there is no information yet regarding the truck’s fully-electric version, rumors have already been circulating that it will be the Ford F-150 2024 Electric truck.
What Is Ford F-150 EV?
The Ford F-150 2024 Electric truck will not be Ford’s first iteration in the electric truck business. It has previously released the Ford Ranger EV between 1998 and 2002; however, numerous problems with the truck, including battery overheating, costly battery maintenance, and marketing controversies, the truck production and sale were soon discontinued.
Ford then focused its development of electric vehicles on its Vans and suvs. There was no clue regarding Ford’s release of any electric trucks until the news about the development of the 2024 full-electric model of its F-Series truck emerged during the 2022 Detroit Auto Show.
Ford F-150 Electric Appearance And Performance
The next-gen electric F-150 truck has appeared in a promotional video that shows the truck pulling a 1,000,000-lbs train. The truck’s appearance on the video can not be considered phenomenal, it does demonstrate Ford’s seriousness in developing a fully-electric truck that is as green as it is capable.
Ford has confirmed that the truck appearing on the video is a prototype. In terms of appearance and performance, a big difference between it and the final model is anticipated.
3D Rendering
The only visual clue of how the Ford F-150 2024 Electric will look is the 3D rendering of the truck that has been released multiple times by Ford, each with slightly different changes in the body.
The latest 3D rendering shows that the truck will have a big front grille closed off like the grille of Mustang Mach-E. The 3D rendering also shows some possible color selection for the truck. By interactively observing the 3D rendering, you should be able to reveal the truck’s expected appearance and all the color options available for it.
The Electric Motor
The Ford F-150 2024 Electric truck is expected to use a dual electric motor that generates more than 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, giving the truck a real edge against its gasoline-powered counterparts terms of efficiency and performance. The motor is predicted to be made through Ford’s collaboration with SK Innovation, a South Korean EV battery maker.
Ford F-150 2024 Electric Release Date & Price
Although the exact year of the release of the fully-electric F-150 truck has not been made public, Ford’s COO Jim Farley once revealed on Automotive News that the electric truck is expected to be on the market within 24 months, giving an impression that the electric truck should materialize sometime before June 2024, hence the F150 Electric.

The truck’s release will coincide with Ford’s new Transit van, also an electric vehicle. The truck name, i.e., the 2024 Ford F150 Electric, is just an estimation based on the base model and the year of release and not based on Ford’s official announcement. You can see many electric trucks entering the market early in this decade if this information is proven to be true.
About the price, this is still the biggest mystery. We expect prices to start at $100,000. We are not sure the F150 EV will sell for under $50,000. But all that is just an estimate.
Ford As The Sole Maker
There was speculation regarding who would build the truck. Will Ford carry out its construction in-house or by partnering with another vehicle maker.
There was a rumor that Rivian, an indie startup that was known for its experience in electric vehicle making and a company in which Ford invests, would be the partner; however, it is confirmed now that the fully-electric Ford F-150 truck will be built in-house.
Nonetheless, Rivian may lend its assistance in the development of the electric F-150. If the truck does finally materialize, it will be expected to be the next Ford’s major milestone in the EV industry.
